WELCOME TO 78 YOUTH SPORTS

Avoid the harsh winter weather and sign up for the inaugural season of 78 Youth Sports bowling. Open to ages 8 through 18, the season begins on January 4 and runs through March 15. We roll on Sunday mornings (10 AM) and the league includes three games per week. We welcome beginners and experts alike and coaching is available for all levels.

The cost of the ten-week program is is $260. The registration fee includes lane time, shoe rentals and a 78 YS bowling shirt.

Baseball is back! And softball too! Winter meetings are happening, we're counting down to pitchers and catchers and opening day is on the horizon.

78 is pleased to announce the opening of registration for our 39th season of rec baseball/softball and spring 2026 will be the best one yet. Visit our baseball and softball program page for more details.

Click the Register Now button, choose your coach and grab your glove. Games are played throughout Park Slope, Carroll Gardens and Red Hook. Most games take place at Prospect Park, Parade Grounds Washington Park, Van Voorhees Playground, DiMattina Field or the Red Hook Rec Center. Maps for all our facilities can be found here.

Baseball:

• Cubs (ages 9-10): $280
• Bantam (ages 11-12): $280

Softball:

• Mustangs (ages 8-10): $250
• Broncos (ages 11-12): $250
• Colts (ages 13-15): $250

Spring 2026 ages are determined as of December 31, 2025.

Fees include a 78 YS jersey and hat.

Fees for all age divisions go up $50 on March 2 and all registration closes on March 28.

Open to all children ages 4 to 8, we are offering two 5-week sessions where kids can work on basic skill development in advance of the spring season.

The clinics are structured around a comprehensive program of baseball and softball fundamentals. Our coaches teach basic fielding techniques along with proper throwing and hitting mechanics. Each week features a different skill and each session culminates with, age-appropriate simulated game play that gets our players ready for the spring season.

There are two sessions available.

Session A:

Sundays, January 4 through February 8

No clinics January 18 (MLK weekend).

Session B:

Sundays, February 22 through March 22

Clinic Times:

Ages 4-6, 12:00 PM to 12:55 PM

Ages 7-8, 1:00 PM to 1:55 PM

Ages 4-8, 2:00 PM to 2:55 PM

(Program ages determined as of 12/01/2025)

The 2:00 PM class is intended for those that cannot make the earlier clinics. Players in the 2:00 PM clinic will be divided into age groups.

We’re excited to announce a new partnership between 78 Youth Sports and PKLYN, Brooklyn’s premier indoor pickleball facility and home to one of the city’s leading youth pickleball programs.

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the U.S., and through this partnership, 78YS families now have access to PKLYN’s Junior Pickleball Academy at exclusive partner pricing.

This structured after-school program is designed for kids ages 9–13 and focuses on building skills, confidence, and teamwork in a supportive, professionally coached environment.

Clinics begin the week of January 7.

Wednesdays:

Level II: 4:00 to 5:00 PM

Level I: 5:00 to 6:00 PM

Thursdays:

Level I: 4:00 to 5:00 PM

Level II: 5:00 to 6:00 PM

If a session appears full, families are encouraged to join the waitlist. Based on demand, PKLYN may open additional courts or expand capacity to accommodate more players.
