SIGN UP NOW FOR OUR CHARITY SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

Registration is now open for our inaugural Charity Softball Tournament. With 100% of the proceeds going toward Prospect Park field improvements, this is your chance to gather with friends, relive your glory days and pull a hamstring, all for charity.

Why are you raising money for Prospect Park?

Cuts to the Parks Department budget have resulted in deteriorating field conditions in Prospect Park and our kids lose too many games because of an inability to manage bad weather events. Unless we do something, that will only worsen over time.

Improving the long-term health of the fields requires a lot of work, including regrading the infields; purchasing new equipment; and stockpiling of materials for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Money raised by this tournament can go a long way toward offsetting those expenses and providing our kids with better facilities for years to come.

Who can participate?

Registration is open to anyone 21 or older. Adult softball players, get an early start on the season. Rec parents and coaches get together and form a squad from your team -- give the kids a chance to cheer for you. Call your neighbors. Invite your friends. Know any ringers from your office team? Bring them too. Register an entire team or just a few free agents. Team rosters will hold up to 20 players.

Anyone interested in coaching, please email us here.

Where and When

DiMattina Ballfield

Rapelye and Hicks Streets

Saturday March 28, 2026

12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The final schedule will be distributed when registration closes. We will lengthen the day, as necessary to accommodate as many teams as possible.

How much does it cost?

The cost is $100 per player and the registration fee is 100% tax-deductible.

What are the rules?

All teams will play a minimum of two games. After pool play is complete, the teams with the two best records will advance to a championship final.

All games will be played under "one-pitch" rules. The games will be slow pitch (unlimited arc) and each batter gets only one pitch per at bat. Strikes, including foul balls, are outs. Balls are walks and everything else is subject to normal softball rules. Games are limited to 7 innings, 45 minutes or run rules.

Wow, this sounds like a great idea. Are there sponsorship opportunities?

What a great question. Of course there are. If you are interested in tournament sponsorship, please contact us here. There are several opportunities to prominently place your signage at the event and we are happy to work with you to get your message and logo just right. Options include:

Dugout Sponsors: $2,000
